Red Faction, Second Sight, Painkiller, and Others Change Publisher Hands

Ownership over several titles gets shuffled in THQ Nordic and Koch Media arrangement. Potential remasters, sequels, ports, and more on the horizon.

Publishing rights for a variety of titles are getting switched up as THQ Nordic and Koch Media (Deep Silver, Ravenscourt).

THQ Nordic has stated interest in evaluating “remasters, ports, potential sequels, and new content,” stating they already “have something in mind.”

Titles getting changed around include:

Painkiller

(THQ Nordic to Koch media)

Developed by People Can Fly and originally published by DreamCatcher Interactive in 2004, Painkiller has seen a number of ports and expansions, with the final one, Painkiller: Recurring Evil published under THQ in 2012.

Red Faction

(THQ Nordic to Koch Media)

Red Faction dates all the way back to 2001, with the original release developed by Volition and published by THQ (2001-2013). The series has seen releases on a variety of platforms–even the N-Gage!–with the most recent release, Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-Tered seeing publication on Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.

Sacred

(Koch Media to THQ Nordic)

Sacred saw its first release on Windows in 2004, with sequels and expansions coming to consoles (Sacred 3 released on Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2014).

Risen

(Koch Media to THQ Nordic)

Originally developed by Piranha Bytes and published by Deep Silver in 2009 on Windows and Xbox 360, Risen saw two sequels follow its release.

Rush for Berlin

(Koch Media to THQ Nordic)

Developed by StormRegion and published by Deep Silver in Europe (Paradox Interactive handled the North American release), Rush for Berlin released for Windows in 2006 and received an expansion in 2007.

Second Sight

(Koch Media to THQ Nordic)

Free Radical Design and Codemasters brought Second Sight to consoles and PC in the mid ’00s, and has been somewhat forgotten over the years.

Singles: Flirt Up Your Life

(Koch Media to THQ Nordic)

A Sims-like dating experience, Singles: Flirt Up Your Life released in the early 2000s and saw a sequel shortly after.
